Quatermain's Safari Camp accommodation is located on the Amakhala Game Reserve between Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown in the malaria-free Eastern Cape of South Africa. The camp is the culmination of two decades of passion and experience in the safari industry. Quatermain's 1920's Safari Camp is an intimate and rustic, 3-Star graded, expedition-style tented camp with en-suite bathrooms. Game drives are conducted on the award-winning Amakhala Game Reserve. The ethos behind Quatermain's is to offer guests the opportunity to experience the romance of those early safaris coupled with five-star game viewing. Small and intimate, Quatermain's Camp offers the very best that an African safari can; authentic tented accommodation, candlelit dinners, warm fireside company and exciting safari drives.

DAILY GAME DRIVES BY EXPERIENCED RANGERS

Amakhala Game Reserve is populated by a variety of wildlife including Elephant, Giraffe, Rhinos, Lions, Leopard, Cheetah, Buffalo, Wildebeest, Zebra and many other species. Our twice daily 3 to 4 hour Game drives which depart directly from camp are guided by our experienced rangers. Riaan and Julie Brand invite you to leave the "Rat Race" behind and slip into the adventure of a bygone era.

LOCATION

Take the N2 from Port Elizabeth towards Grahamstown. Approximately halfway between the two or 68 kilometres from Port Elizabeth turn left at the Amakhala Carnavondale signposted entrance, enter the gate, proceed 1.5Km to Carnarvondale Lodge where you can leave your vehicle and you will be transported to the camp. Our comfortable colonial style tents will ensure you enjoy a genuinebush experience. Each tent is carpeted and is furnished with military style beds, and a dresser/chest. Enjoy a wonderful bush shower in our delightful en suite bathrooms.

The price includes: all meals, 2 game drives per day, and ‘sundowners’. If the rate is R3150 per person, per night sharing, the rate is R7020 for 2 people.

Courtney tent and Livingstone tent each have twin beds and sleeps 4 in total. When booking this site you have to book both tents together.
